Jeff Bouthiette is an actor, composer/lyricist, musical director, and cabaret artist. He is a member of the Writers' Workshop at the Theatre Building Chicago, and his original musical Whirlybirds was recently presented in Stage Left's Leapfest. His original musical fantasia Dammit! I'm an Artist! was produced at Donny's Skybox. He has acted with many theatres in Chicago, and recently appeared as Montel and Jesus in the critically acclaimed U.S. premiere of Jerry Springer The Opera at the Bailiwick. |
Paul Elliott makes his writing debut, joining the creative team behind, “The Ville”. His work as a visual artist has led him into the world of writing for the stage and screen. He is currently adapting a novel for the screen, developing a web series for Bare Boned Theatre and making plans for Season 4 of “The Ville”. |
Jenn-Anne Gledhill - when she is not writing, she is acting. When she is not acting, she is working with her disabled posse. When she is not working, she is driving Nick, the new black Corolla. When she is not driving, she is sleeping. And when she is not sleeping, she is sitting on the couch with Sue and Little G watching Weeds, Absolutely Fabulous, Dexter, or that tv show "Still Standing". |
Cole Hamer is a writer originally from another state. In addition to writing for The Ville, she writes plays, fiction, screenplays, and nonfiction. She received a fancy degree in Philosophy and Economics and owes money on her student loans. Cole studied comedic writing at Second City. She’s very excited to be writing for The Ville. |
Maggie Hellwig is a nomad from North Carolina who tends to relocate amongst cool people. It appears that all of the cool people have wandered over to Chicago. So, I came to the city with a burnt-out lap top and a pack of runny blue Bic pens to see what next artistic project was on my horizon. My literary compass happened to stop with the arrow pointed straight at The Ville and I'm more than enthusiastic to contribute. This is my first time writing for a theatre (although I am constantly writing my own plays), and hopefully not my last. I graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in Literature and Creative Writing. Two of my short stories have been published in the Dickinson Review, and one recently in Coq and Bull Press. |
Jessica Murguia (Assistant Head Writer)- when Jessica answered that Craigslist ad for GLBT writers lo these several years ago, she never imagined how much of a THING The Ville would turn out to be and is extremely proud to have been a part of it from its early stages. Jessica has written other stuff, like material for the sketch revue Mass Recall and a one-act play, Border, both at Gorilla Tango Theater, but as far as she’s concerned, The Ville is where it’s at. |
Rebekah Walendzak (Head Writer) served as director for the first five episodes of The Ville's inaugural season. Outside of The Ville, Rebekah has directed sketch comedy in Chicago along with Shakespeare with East Los Angeles Repertory Theatre. A graduate of San Jose State University, Rebekah has studied classical theatre performance with the California Shakespeare Festival along with improvisation and comedic writing with Chicago's Second City. To her writing credit, Rebekah co-wrote/starred in Husband & Life, a two-person one-act play, which performed to critical acclaim at Live Bait Theatre. Rebekah currently teaches comedic writing at the Second City Training Center. |
